This captured heart yields to the slow bleed
Reference your dead gods that don’t heed
With your failed attention to my pleas

Next the lonely nights with spent seed
My short shrift for naught you must concede
This captured heart yields to the slow bleed

Archaic term, dead gods and the black steed
Snorting crimson on two hind legs freed
With your failed attention to my pleas

Casual readers perplexed can’t conceive
Allusion from blatant dirt you see
This captured heart yields to the slow bleed

Elves, fairies and butterflies flee
Imperfect rhyming means naught to me
With your failed attention to my pleas

Stopped taking my pills and you must agree
Shirley hindered my creativity
This captured heart yields to the slow bleed
With your failed attention to my pleas

A villanelle with a powerful punch, humor and a message–fantastic. I really liked “casual readers Casual readers perplexed can’t conceive
Allusion from blatant dirt you see” and the part about naught caring about rhymes being perfect. lol. Mikey, I get the feeling you’re a Frankly my dear I don’t give a damn poet, and I love and salute that. Cheers
