    The excellent choice of words, the brevity of the poem….carries it straight to the gut.

    Something very visceral and universal about this poem.

    Love the alliteration in the first line and ‘Guttural bellows’ – these two words sound just great together. A resounding piece.

    Lucky for us humans, we have SOME history books to give us an indication of what the past was like, albeit of only recent times. I often still long to know what my ancestors were like and a book just does not cut it. Can relate to that “ancestral aching”.
