It’s 4am on a Tuesday
The regular crowd shuffles in
I sit alone at my computer
Wishing I had some Tonic and Gin
Been sober now for so long
The urge just goes away
Where did my dam cigarettes go
One habit that had to stay
Turned on Winamp to play a melody
There’s a song I don’t know how it goes
Bout some piano player thought a poet
And i thought I was the poet but
I guess I’ll just eat some dam crow.

Sing us a song Mr. Poet Man
Sing us a song tonight
Cause we all lost our muses a week ago
And we’re tired of trying to write.

Pret tea Good. How did you like that last convoluted stanza? Getting up at 4am or working through into 4am sure produces some different stuff. smiles

I think I may have eaten the same grow, and I KNOW I’ve smoked the cigarettes too…so seems we have a couple things in common. Enjoyed your 4am…felt right at home π

If I was awake at 4:00am, Michael, be it still awake or just woken up, I would be extremely unhappy. lol I’m not good without sleep. π
I worked nights for about ten years, and it was hell. Write? I could never keep my eyes open long enough; the places I’ve fallen asleep! Kudos to you for being able to write at such an ungodly hour.

It’s my new Crucial SSD really. The speed it has given puter is amazing. So as long I keep being amazed at it’s speed the early hours seem ok. In the Navy I worked port and starboard, 12 on 12 off and you never new really if it was night or day unless you looked at the 24 hour clock.
