Morning Nodding

I still shake off the heads morning nodding
After a hot cup of coffees prodding
The emails waiting some of them baiting
Smiling I answer without the hating

Sitting there rocking begins the ponder
Of what to write now, mind starts to wonder
One sentence starts off coffees now prodding
I still shake off the heads morning nodding

  8. Great fun poem. You really captured the feel of the morning and of hunting for the start of a line. The way the end mirrored the beginning was a clever trick. Really enjoyed it.

  22. Michael, first off, you and I are fellow coffee hounds. I never write without some “bean” beside me. And loved how the beginning two lines became the ending. Mornings rock for you? I’m a night owl and write often before drifting off. Here’s a poem that will make you smile:

    • You may be a coffee sleeper. My oldest son calms down on coffee. When coffee doesn’t work I slam to rubber mallets together and watch them fly around the room! smiles..
