The sun sets heavy with my heart
Let the sins of the father depart
Open the child’s eyes for a fresh start
With a new vision for them impart
Everyone bears their own sin
Until you allow Jesus to come in
When the father doesn’t hold the banner high
What the child sees is a lie
Growing up is hard enough
Especially hard around the corrupt
Soften their hearts when witness’ come
Let my family and others serve as one

hmmmm to be an example of what is real and true.
However, the bible states the sins of the father shall fall on the children into many generations, can such a prayer be answered!!! 😦
Several different Scriptures on this issue. I’ll let God sort it out later… Smiles…
(Deuteronomy 24:16) – “Fathers shall not be put to death for their sons, nor shall sons be put to death for their fathers; everyone shall be put to death for his own sin.”
(Ezekiel 18:20) – “The person who sins will die. The son will not bear the punishment for the father’s iniquity, nor will the father bear the punishment for the son’s iniquity; the righteousness of the righteous will be upon himself, and the wickedness of the wicked will be upon himself.”
“Exodus 34:7 ESV / 62 helpful votes
Keeping steadfast love for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, but who will by no means clear the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children and the children’s children, to the third and the fourth generation.”
this means the consequences shall follow onto the next generation though they shall die solely based on their own sins. My father is a murderer, he goes to jail, that sin causes me to be raised fatherless, then I go into depression, hating people, society, him etc…those are due to the sins of my father, if I act on my feelings in a sinful manner, I shall die, but if I deal with the consequences and turn them into positives, though I suffered from dad’s sin, I shall not die, I was steadfast on the good path 🙂
long run on, sorry Boo 🙂
We still have hope and faith. From what I know I still suffer from My father’s fathers sins, but…. we all want it to stop somewhere.
