Shout it Out

Responsibility is a large word to swallow
Once you choke it down you still feel hallow
It’d be so easy to lie down waist deep and wallow
But you once loved Him so, and even followed

So lay it at His feet and begin to feel free
Talk to him again like you did on bend knees
Collect and sweep away all your old debris
Trust in Him again and shout it out in a decree

Beautiful and really spiritual…real words shouting psalms in silence!! Heavenly!!

  2. Michael, considering your sensitive comment re: my poem about abuse, this is exactly the poem I needed to read. Tremendous show of faith in adversity. Sometimes we journey away, but the homecoming is always that of the Prodigal Son (or Daughter!). Amy

    • I felt drawn to copy and paste this, “The motto of the American Christopher Society (founded 1945), said by the society to derive from ‘an ancient Chinese proverb’.”

She [Eleanor Roosevelt] would rather light a candle than curse the darkness, and her glow has warmed the world.

He is certainly one who believes it is better to light a candle than to curse the darkness.

A fortnight ago, protesters‥wound their way on a candlelit walk through deep snow from the forest up into the citadel. ‘There is an English saying,’ one of them‥told me. ‘It is better to light a candle than to curse the darkness.’
