Fleeting Frivolity

I find happiness just an illusion that graces us on occasion.
Tears of joy at the end of the movie is a normal causation
Being sated for a little while in a loving relation
Getting a pay raise beyond the current inflation

Never satisfied however as we’re always seeking
Looking around the many corners always peeking
Shaking presents under the tree sneaking
Getting naked and getting your partner shrieking

So it’s little chunks here and there meeting
If we’re lucky enough we may have front row seating
We need to enjoy it fast because it’s only fleeting
And then we try and share it with others repeating

  3. My new philosophy about happiness is just that–it’s fleeting and not to expect it all the time.
