Your Desires Deserve

Why are you making it so hard
Keeping your lonely heart on guard
You want to get me down on my knees
To help you decide to become free

I’m too tired to try and play the game
Tit for tat is never quite the same
It’s time to come down on your own
Off your towering self-absorbed throne

This is our last chance before I leave
Let me turn back for you to see
Here I am giving my hand and heart
Your desires deserve a new start

Holding Hands

Hiding in shadows I whispered aloud
With the idea of opening the clouds
I crossed into the light ready to be seen
Letting you know that the light’s now green

I’ve wanted to bring light into my day
In hopes that you’ll listen to what I say
There’s nothing worse than being alone
Or being the one who had to be shown

Phil 2: 1-11 Lenten Day 37

Black Sheep

I look at you now and all I want to do is weep
Open your eyes and see that your life is cheap
Look at this guy who treats you like black sheep
It’s no wonder why all you do is want to sleep

With Pleasure There’s Pain

Shaking uncontrollably
Cold sweats like rain in a storm
Bowels twisting and in knots
Bugs crawl over me in swarms

Throat starting to close up tight
Joints feel like they’re grinding
This is the devil’s delight
With pleasure there’s pain I’m finding

Sophist Skills

As the words draw me out
From behind barriers tall
Stairs ascend on high
Climbing fear lest I fall

Visions brought for your sake
Guttural chakra now wakes
Labyrinth starts uncoiling
Opening words recoiling

Your heart lays open bare
Imposter says he cares
Serpentine sophist skills
His words of venom still kill

Tightly hold on to your shield
Be seduced not and yield
This warning I know is late
Still we are our own fate

Trifecta’s Writing Challenge Mar 25

For http://www.Trifectawritingchallenge.com prompt this week, we are giving you the first 33 words of a story. You need to complete it with 33 of your own words.  This weekend’s Trifextra is community-judged.

“There’s nothing cute about it,” he said. The register of his voice indicated decision more so than discussion. She disagreed heartily and privately, staring past his head and out the window behind him.

Townspeople had a contest of prominent people’s baby pictures in the newspaper for a Nursery fund raiser. His mother submitted his photo of him naked lying on his stomach.  John won belly down.

Heb 12 :1-11 Lenten Day 33

Run patient the race
Jesus stirs and ends our faith
Don’t faint in your minds

Despise not chastisement
God deals with you as His sons

Flesh father corrected
Both deserves reverence
Jesus corrects us

Chastisement seems grievous
Yields peaceful righteousness

Adjusting Words Past

Come over here and sit by me
On the soft grass under the oak tree
Dreams faded away paint cracked and curled
Once were the days you were still my girl

Deny not the smiles they were real
Fears from broken hearts past did peal
Let’s make things right don’t go astray
Adjust the words I said and didn’t say

The sun’s going down the end of the day
Look at the time spent we’ve had to pay
We have to go now and I don’t know how
Accepting defeat again with closure now

Let me give hope back filling your heart
Give it a chance we’ll have a new start
With our tracks behind us converging
Let’s be together once again merging

Don’t take me down on bending knees
I don’t want to but beg I will please
If it’s your will then I’ll push this rock
Never again your door will I knock

Lend me Your Ear, Heart or Hand

This is not poetry, it’s a edited copy of a response I made to a post.I was homeless, getting a divorce, using and drinking. There’s nothing like having a cardboard mattress outside in the winter. Boo hoo for me. I finally was able to get off the drugs and drink and got the medication I needed to cope with bipolar, depression and low self esteem. Most of my lifestyle required decisions to be that way and living that way. There’s hundreds of us at U.S. Vets (Non Profit Corp) in Long Beach CA. who finally made some better decisions not to be out there. There are others out there in the same condition that can make educated decisions about changing there lifestyle and getting help from dwindling services (another story) right now. The new influx of homeless people (losing everything outside of their control) are in a state of depression and shock they’ve never had to deal with before. Most of us are one paycheck away from the same plight of these new homeless. Most people want less taxes, so government programs are getting less funding. I don’t know the answers to these issues outside of donating some of ourselves to help instead of the money that we really can’t spare by volunteering. There are more and more suburban outreach facilities coming into existence if you feel you can’t get into the trenches of the urban consider suburban (for the “new” homeless) or for the Veterans that are coming back in the V.A. Hospitals. Consider 4 hours of your time every 2 weeks or a month to make a difference. You’ll be repaid.

Heb 4: 1-13 Lenten Day 30

Man must have some rest
Creation’s seventh day had rest
Lest any man fall

God’s word is emboldened strength
Knows thoughts and intents of hearts

Ambrosia

The sheer curtains that opened up to the evening air
Helped diffuse the hanging flatulent tremors and ease
My normally clean conscience since I inadvertently allowed
The ambrosia escape from under the comforter.

Abilify or not to Abilify*

Having the right to be whole
Fighting depression takes a toll
I now have a choice to choose
What symptoms I’d rather lose

I can be fatigued all day
Or be depressed the other way
Falling asleep at the keyboard
Or shrinking away being abhorred

I’ve decided not to be fatigued
I need a new med(s) to work in league
With what I take so I can be free
From depression that plagues me

Who am I to Judge?

Rainstorms remind me to be more thankful
When caught in this disappointed handful
For the time that I spent alone on the streets
Now inside my home when it snows or sleets

Grateful to God giving praise when I pray
Behind locked doors where the wolves are at bay
Having a new roof and a warm cozy bed
With good hot meals and a place for my head

Some are still standing in the long soup line
Smelling like wet dogs and cheap screw cap wine
It’s choices they made of their own choosing
Most are smart men who’d rather be boozing

There are new families with kids in soup lines
Victims of lost jobs or the banks some combined
With a clean conscience, not judging, only examine
Is it a lack of faith, sin, trials or predetermined

We are the instruments of His ordained works
If we don’t help who’ll do the framework?
Offer aid and assistance when you can
We are all saved by grace and His plan
