When the Bough Brakes

Come and sing me, my lullaby
That one that puts, me right to sleep
Come and cradle me, close to your heart
Keeping me warm, so my soul to keep

Come and coo, try and make me smile
My eyelids had, gotten heavy
Come and gently kiss both my cheeks
They did all they could to save me

Like Talking in the Night

Wuji spells it out.

Meaningless Words

Nothing can be said
Words are meaningless
In this situation
With this price of stress

I must agree with you
Very mysterious
Going over what’s said
Make’s me deleterious

Caught up in this trap
Being exposed this way
Tears can fill oceans
Salt water decays

Back against the ledge
Many miles down
Secrets sealed for now
New ocean to drown

Be Prepared For Dawn

Coming to town all gut zed up
To see where everybody is
No one stopped to see how I was
And the town looked long deserted

I seen an old timer rocking his chair
“I asked where everyone had gone”?
“One morning everyone wasn’t here
And It was at the break of dawn”.

He continued, “I thought you went up too
I was to tell the stranglers to go on”.
That you would be picked up later
And have your heart prepared for dawn”,

Wrangles

simple as it feels the words ring true
saying it over again love rules
spoken in the winds it travels far
up and past the heavens to the stars

wranglers on the ranch’s sky opens wide
clouds can’t hold it back on either side
the rain comes down to quite the roar
and the songs rise into the sky soar

in the clash the songs multiply
lighting up the gloomy skies
that’s the way we bring the smiles
and silencing the exiles

Sunday The Visiting Day

Simple and effective

Morning Story and Dilbert

He was looking forward to this moment all day long, after 6 days of labor and it finally arrived – Visiting Day!

The man with the keys arrived to swing open the large, heavy doors. The cold gray hall springs to life in the warm glow of light. He could hardly control His emotions.

The families began to arrive. He peers from the corner of the room longing for the 1st glimpse of His loved one. He lives for the weekends. He lives for these visits.

As the cars arrive, He watches intently. Then, finally, they arrive, for whom He would do anything. They embrace, eat a light lunch and reminisce how things used to be.

At one point, they break into singing, with interruptions of laughter and applause. But all too soon it is over. A tear comes to His eyes as they depart.

Then the man with the…

Repentance

Dimples and desire were
The only things you needed
I had to recognize
And be the first that heeded

All the others were blind
When it came to your treasure
Your opened eyes reflected
What gems were your pleasure

The minstrels in your court
Thought their songs were attended
Then I heard her foot stop
And new musicians blended

The jester in your court
Recognized the silence
I failed to please the Queen
All laughed at my penance

Fire in the Hole

Biting to ease my anxiety
Lower lip bleeds inside my mouth
Learning to live with variety
Looking at all my plans going south

She’s strutting the hollow halls, click
Black pumps pink soles all follow
Has in her hand a licking stick
Leaving us tight throats to swallow

She’s quite yet leaves us affright
Ready to give us a licking
Now she’s giggling with shear delight
Not unlike holding bombs ticking

seconds away

my footprints are blown away
from my long yesterdays
hoping these memories flow
above where i once wallowed

nowhere do i need to grieve
or come back to you and cleave
almost making a fatal mistake
thinking i could escape

seconds away everyday
seeking the right way
as if we could control
faith will if faith is whole

Feather Footed Fleeting Fancy

Permission to hope
Difficulties to overcome
Baggage or ballast
I think I have none
Potential ecstasy
Earth placenta?
Or gardener of earth
Faustian Impulse?
Dealing with the devil in the dirt
Out of the domain of the One
Into obsessive center of the other
Nothing lasts
Everything fades
Obsessive center
Ego is destroying us
It’s dissolving boundaries
Representing a point of view
Is this the beginning
Of their naked separation?

Foot Prints

I see your foot prints left on the floor
As you were floating towards the door
Don’t try to explain what I seen
Its cold and my head is sweating steam

Over and over everyday
Is it that you’re wanting me to play?
You don’t scare me if that’s your plan
And I won’t follow as your madman

Our dream is more real every night
I’ll have to go in with no sunlight
Through the mystery door of surprise
Now I show foot prints after my demise

Her Snare

Snare Trap Cover 5.5x8.5 Version3

I can’t take back the words
As they float through the air
Whispers that she overheard
Is what left me in this snare

Taking away my will
Anger wrapped my tongue tight
And made my legs stand still
No running this black night

A cup of cold water
Thrown in my Red face
I’m the lamb up for slaughter
My lament that I embrace

Two Gold Crowns

No new schemes on the horizon’s plane
Holding down mutiny with some in chains
The stars can’t lie but for the cloud’s shadow
Two fortnights gone past with no place to paddle

Seas getting angry with two men overboard
When the seas were calm I offered a reward
The first bird seen or land on the horizon
Wins two gold crowns with two grog rations

The third fortnight we heard the screech of a gull
The first mate first found and pointed aft on the hull
Spirits are high blue is forever the sea and the sky
Isabella was happy over the booty and supplies

The Fork in the Road

Where did you go?

Was it not for fear than what then?

Did you take the long way home?

The beautiful scenery makes me forget for a while

Feeling trapped in your soul.

Walking should calm your restlessness.

Seeing the ruby throated sparrows singing their song.

Canopy trees covered over the road sprinkling sunshine.

Our hateful words last night were slept on before we talked it out.

We both knew better but broke the unwritten rules.

Now I’m running towards the long way home.

Scared of reaching the fork in the road before I reach hurt

“Bar Stool” Gary Jules

man shock failure sad bar drinking

Old man on a barstool watching TV
Got up and came over to sit closer to me
He said “You look familiar to someone I knew
But when were your age we were older than you
Jimmy was twenty and I seventeen
And to us there was nothing but girls and machines
Jimmy got married and I went to war
I still don’t know what we were doing it for
But if you’ll buy me a drink–turkey on ice
Then I could give you some advice
“You just stay in the bar
For as long as you can
As long as you’re drinking
Then you’ve got the world in your hand
“There’s no shame in hanging your world by a string
And you know there’s no harm in not thinking a thing
But trying to find a place for yourself in this world
Is like trying to make a wife of an American girl
If you’ll trade me a drink for a story or two
Then you’ll know what you need to do
“You just stay in the bar
For as long as you can
You know love is for sissies
It’s whiskey that makes you a man”
Now the old man got up and stumbled out in the street
He’d been drinking all day and left his bar tab with me
I didn’t have the money to cover his bill
But I found me a man who looked like me, younger still
And said, “Buy me a drink and I’ll tell you a tale
About the old man who taught me so well
You just stay in the bar
For as long as you can
Hell I know you’re a friend
I can tell by the shakes in your hand
You just stay in the bar
For as long as you dare
As long as you’re tipping
Then you’ve got a good friend somewhere

Shag Stands Straight

Early morning your wings disintegrate
Your blackened eyes feeling the heavy weight
No one will care you cleaned the speaker’s grate
Or managed to have the shag stand straight

Cranking it up turns on other speakers
By this time you’re putting on your sneakers
Running away from the squally squeakers
Will help you now to find other seekers

All this around me my friend Shabu’s cool
Shabu helps me go ahead and skip school
Go to the hall and shoot some awesome pool
Later they found you face down in a stool

Gifts and Trophies

Excellent.

Morning Story and Dilbert

Women have strengths that amaze men…..IT IS THAT
They bear hardships and they carry burdens,
but they hold happiness, love and joy.

They smile when they want to scream.
They sing when they want to cry.
They cry when they are happy
and laugh when they are nervous.

They fight for what they believe in..
They stand up to injustice.
They don’t take “no” for an answer
when they believe there is a better solution.

They go without so their family can have.
They go to the doctor with a frightened friend.
They love unconditionally.
They cry when their children excel
and cheer when their friends get awards.

They are happy when they hear about
a birth or a wedding.
Their hearts break when a friend dies.
They grieve at the loss of a family member,
yet they are strong when they
think there is no strength left.

They know…
