What’s Love Got to do With it? *

The two faces of these words hesitate
Causing confusion that molds our fate
Putting one foot in, pulling one foot out
Walking between, my love and our sake

Would you care if our scales were even
Trying to save our relationship from within
Too many times we promised to change
Knowing we couldn’t but hoping we would

Walking past our obelisks crumbling down
Undermining each other’s tainted crowns
Not wanting to change for either’s egos
Bystanders laughing at the clowns

*Not the song

Six Foot Deep

You left the back door open
All my dreams and sheep were gone
You never had this power before
Curse your evil carousel clowns

Whisper brushing your cold ear
Go slowly so not to wake
Now increasing distance between us
As you jump on your failing brakes

The ghost of present moments
Trying to get my dreams and sheep
And I watch your failed attempts
Landing In and over six feet deep
