Capital letters for us
In the tree out back
Now about grown over
As I’m about to pack
Duke loves Daisy
Carved within a heart
Hard to make out now
Then it was our start
Sold the house
So big and alone
Without you now
The house only groans
A new couple now
With love in their hearts
Makes it feel right
Since it’s their start

awww this is bittersweet at its best. I always wanted my name on a tree, at least those last forever, well until they cut the tree, lol. Stil, each time I see these I often think about the couple, where they could be etc…NICE one boo, xxxxxxxx π

I never had done this myself, but have seen it on different occasions; one was out in the woods, several hundred yards away from the path. Never did figure out that one.

If only love would last as long as some of those trees. This leaves me wondering about Duke and Daisy. π

A lot of things could have happened to Daisy including dying. Left this one open ended for the reader to decide.

When “forever” doesn’t work out for some folks, it may for the next couple… certainly true of me and my former husband, who are both happily remarried and all friends.
A tinge of sadness with a happy ending. And the tree will always mark the good times, you know? Thanks, Amy
