What do you have for me?
More layers of quilt to address?
Let me say goodbye to this old year;
After these sins I confess.
Looking forward to a blank new sheet
Gives me hope for a great new year
Let me turn the page of yesterday
With a mind that’s totally clear
Thinking you can weigh me down
Bringing up past sins suits you fine
Nothing you can do will make me
Sit down hurt, wail and pine
So go your way straight to hell
There’s nothing for you here
My conscious is clean and ready
To start a great New Year

Awesome piece! π It reminded me of The Rubaiyat of Omar Khayam … π
… Now the New Year reviving old Desires.
The thoughtful Soul to Solitude retires,
Where the White Hand Of Moses on the Bough
Puts out, and Jesus from the Ground suspires.
…
… Ah, my Beloved, fill the Cup that clears
TO-DAY of past Regrets and future Fears:
To-morrow! Why, To-morrow I may be
Myself with Yesterday’s Sev’n thousand Years.

I like this – it is so easy to be overwhelmed by guilt, and some people don’t help that! You encourage us all to move on, triumphantly, decisively and firmly with a well written piece. Here’s to the New Year – may 2012 be spectacular for you!
