Tempted by an old addiction
A friend went over the top
Falling into his old routine
Now he’s unable to stop
Triggering deep seated issues
Feelings from so long ago
Getting high rather than crying
Going with the flow
What caused this aberration?
Bringing back the black hole
Stampeding over emotions
Smoke floating over the bowl
The blank in life surrounding
Only memories from the past
Keep coming to the forefront
Torturing tears of the harassed

How sad and true. It’s awful that so many people deal with addiction everyday, and no one seems to give them the proper help they need, or to work through the things that got them there. I’ve been watching a lot of ‘Intervention’ lately, and some of those stories are just heartbreaking! Wonderful post.

From personal experience and the addicts I ran with were all trying to replace something that’s been missing. I’m sure you can draw your own conclusions. It’s a crap shoot. But the needs are real and unless they come to terms they’ll never fill the hole(s) only the 6 foot one.
